In everything that has been happening lately on innovation, smartwatches seem to have come of age as an inevitable accessory. They track fitness, activities, and all sorts of connectivity. Now was finally a chance to look at a couple of these best selling smartwatches on hand for comparison: Apple Watch Series 10 by Samsung Galaxy Watch 7. Both these devices promise really impressive features, and so I was excited to test each one and find out how well it will be living up to real life in actual use. Here are my findings that really left me quite stunned during the testing processes.

Feature breakdown showing the specifications of Apple Watch Series 10 versus Samsung Galaxy Watch 7.

Design and Display: A Clash of Styles

The first thing that strikes one is the vast difference in the design philosophy. Apple Watch Series 10 has a rectangular shape with rounded edges. Aluminum and titanium finishes are options for it. The display of the watch is bright and vivid, at 420 x 480 pixels for a 42mm size and a pixel density of around 326 ppi.

The Galaxy Watch 7 bears a traditional round shape, quite similar to many analog watches. Its size is 1.5 inches (44mm), and it displays a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels, equating to roughly 330 ppi pixel density. Both watches deliver quality visuals. Yet, the Apple Watch seemed to offer a broader viewing angle, beneficial for outdoor scenarios.

Health Tracking Features: A Game Changer

Both gadgets are equipped with robust health monitoring capabilities. The Apple Watch Series 10 left me literally breathless for having a feature on sleep apnea detection. It tracks the movements of a wrist at sleep through the accelerometer and heart rate along with wrist temperature to track for any breathing interruptions. Still, this feature remains under FDA clearance, and one can only imagine what difference it makes in sleep apnea early detection.

On the other hand, with the Galaxy Watch 7, you wear brilliance as it comes integrated with a BioActive Sensor that can monitor the heart rate, monitor blood oxygen levels, and even detect instances of sleep apnea. Besides that, another great thing about this watch is  **ECG functionality: It lets users perform an electrocardiogram   directly from their wrists for people worried about their heart.”.

But what really impressed me was the crash detection feature on the Apple Watch. I tested that by simulating a crash; the watch alerted emergency services right away. That’s very reassuring for those who want to feel safe.

Battery Life: The Marathon vs. The Sprint

Another area where the Galaxy Watch 7 was ahead of the pack is its battery life. Up to 30 hours it would go, using an always-on display; and to not have to keep thinking about how many charges the thing might have required had this not been present would have felt rather freeing. On the other hand, Apple Watch Series 10 features a normal, standard battery life, at approximately 18 hours of time on it. End.

Despite all these things, Apple Watch does carry the Low Power Mode that could take the life to a remarkable 36 hours of battery power while limiting most of its feature. Therefore, the product would make a compromise good for a person wearing it daily, not settling too long at one point. However, if the thing you can’t hate to do often is too many charges in your gadget, then it’s pretty hands down from the competition and goes with the winner-the Galaxy Watch 7.

Software Ecosystem: Seamless Integration

Each of them has its advantage when it comes to the software. The Apple Watch features watchOS v11 that operates so seamlessly within the Apple realm where people can easily access thousands of apps and other goodies, including Emergency SOS via satellite, making this device much more attractive for users within the Apple ecosystem.

The Galaxy Watch 7 comes with the OS called Wear OS with One UI Watch that has ample room for customization and fairly good compatibility with androids. An interface like this is friendly and personalized. This would be great for any tech enthusiast who wants to fine-tune the gadget.
